Four ways to send

  • Dashboard: one recipient at a time, with a saved campaign template.
  • Bulk CSV: upload name, email or phone, amount and optional custom fields; preview, then send. Good for research panels and rebate batches.
  • Zapier: trigger a reward when a survey completes, a deal closes or a form is submitted. No code.
  • API: create orders, track status, receive webhooks. Sandbox environment for testing.

Scheduling and reminders are built in; unclaimed rewards are returned to your balance after expiry.

What the recipient sees

An email or SMS in your branding with the amount and a button. The redemption page lists the rewards you allowed, in the recipient’s language and currency. Gift cards deliver instantly; prepaid cards are virtual and show card details on screen; cash options ask for the destination account. No account creation is required.

Accessibility: redemption pages meet WCAG 2.0 AA. Recipients can contact Tremendous support directly for delivery problems, which keeps the sender out of the loop.

Controls for finance

  • Roles: admin, member, viewer; per-user send limits.
  • Approval workflow for orders above a threshold.
  • Separate funding sources per team or budget line.
  • Order history and exports for reconciliation; invoices for funding.
  • W-9 collection and 1099 reporting support for US recipients above the annual threshold.

Screening before payout

Automated checks flag duplicate recipients, disposable email domains, VPN and geolocation mismatches, and unusual redemption behavior. Flagged rewards hold for review. The company cites an industry estimate that roughly 10% of incentive spend is lost to fraud, which is the case for the feature.

Certifications: SOC 2 Type II. Data handling is documented in the published security page and DPA.

Developer notes

REST API with API keys per environment. Core objects: funding sources, campaigns, products (rewards), orders and rewards. Webhooks fire on reward creation, delivery and redemption. Rate limits are generous for typical incentive volumes; bulk orders are batched.

Integrations: Zapier; research tools including Qualtrics, Typeform, SurveyMonkey and Forsta; HR platforms such as Bonusly; CRMs through Zapier. Check the current integrations directory on tremendous.com for the live list.

What is missing

  • No physical gift cards or merchandise fulfilment; virtual only.
  • No native recognition feed or peer-to-peer social features (pair it with an HR tool for that).
  • Analytics stop at order-level exports.
  • No sender-side mobile app; the web dashboard is responsive.
